    “1. Introduction

Astrology and astronomy often overlap in their studies, but have different approaches to interpreting the signs of the zodiac. In this article we will look at how astronomical observations affect the duration and boundaries of the signs of the zodiac, and how this differs from the astrological approach we are used to.

    2. Differences between astronomical and astrological signs of the zodiac

    A. Duration of the signs

Astrology familiar to us defines the signs of the zodiac with a duration of 30 degrees each. This is convenient for everyday use, but is somewhat of a generalization. In fact, the astronomical duration of the zodiac signs is different:

    – Aries: 27 degrees
    – Taurus: 37 degrees
    – Gemini: 27 degrees
    – Cancer: 21 degrees
    – Leo: 31 degrees
    – Virgo: 41 degrees
    – Libra: 19 degrees
    – Scorpio: 30 degrees
    – Sagittarius: 32 degrees
    – Capricorn: 28 degrees
    – Aquarius: 24 degrees
    – Pisces: 44 degrees

    B. Beginning and ending degrees

Another important aspect is at which degree each zodiac sign begins and ends. Unlike the usual 30 degree system, astronomical signs begin and end at different degrees:

    – Aries begins at 4 degrees Aries and ends at 1 degree Taurus.
    – Taurus begins at 1 degree of Taurus and ends at 8 degrees of Gemini.
    – And so on.

It follows that some zodiac signs “crawl” into neighboring signs, which changes the boundaries between them.

    3. Tropical and Sideric zodiacs

    A. Differences between Western and Eastern astrology

Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, which is fixed relative to the seasons. Eastern astrology more often uses the sideric zodiac, which is closer to astronomical reality and the position of the stars on the celestial sphere.

    B. Accuracy of the sideric zodiac

The sideric zodiac is considered more accurate because it is more in line with the actual positions of the stars and planets in the sky. The position of the stars in the sideric zodiac better reflects the true motion of the heavenly bodies along the ecliptic.

    4. Examples of astronomical signs of the zodiac

    A. Aries

The astronomical duration of the sign of Aries is 27 degrees. It begins at 4 degrees of Aries and ends at 1 degree of Taurus.

    B. Taurus

The constellation Taurus has a duration of 37 degrees and begins at 1 degree Taurus, ending at 8 degrees Gemini.

    C. Gemini

Gemini occupies 27 degrees of the celestial sphere and begins at 8 degrees Gemini.

    D. Virgo

The constellation Virgo is one of the largest constellations and occupies 41 degrees of the celestial sphere.

    E. Libra

Libra is one of the smallest constellations, spanning only 19 degrees.

    F. Scorpio

Scorpio has a duration of 30 degrees, but its influence is often seen in the context of the emergence of the constellation Serpentine.

    G. Sagittarius

Sagittarius occupies 32 degrees of the celestial sphere.

    H. Capricorn

The constellation Capricorn occupies 28 degrees and begins immediately after Sagittarius.

    I. Aquarius

Aquarius occupies 24 degrees and its influence overlaps with the constellation of Pisces.

    J. Pisces

Pisces has the longest duration, 44 degrees of the celestial sphere, and exerts a considerable influence.

    5. The combined influence of the signs on the planets

    A. Example Libra and Scorpio

There is an area of joint influence on the border of the constellations Libra and Scorpio. Planets passing through this area are influenced by both signs. The stars of Libra and Scorpio intersect in this area, and planets there are influenced by both constellations at the same time.

    B. Example of Leo and Virgo

The constellation Virgo is one of the largest constellations and it intersects with the constellation Leo. In the area of intersection, the stars of both constellations influence the planets in that area. This means that some planets may be jointly influenced by Leo and Virgo, which should be taken into account when making horoscopes.

These examples show how astronomical observations expand and refine our understanding of the signs of the zodiac and their influence on the planets.”

“6. Areas of joint influence of different signs

    A. Libra and Scorpio Example
There is a zone of joint influence on the planets between the constellations of Libra and Scorpio. This zone is shown on the star chart by the blue lines, which show the overlapping influences of the two signs. The ecliptic line, along which the planets move, crosses these zones, and the stars of both constellations influence the planets. This causes the stars of Scorpio and the technical boundaries of Libra to overlap, creating a joint influence on the planets in this zone.

    B. Example of Leo and Virgo
A similar situation occurs between the constellations of lion and Virgo. The constellation of Virgo is one of the largest, spanning 41 degrees. Leo and Virgo are close to each other on the star chart, and the ecliptic line crosses their zones of influence. In this zone, the constellation of lion exceeds its conventional boundaries, which leads to overlapping influences of the two signs. The stars of the constellations of Leo and Virgo thus exert a joint influence on the planets passing through this zone.

    7. The influence of transitional zones on horoscopes

    A. Example Libra, Scorpio, and Serpentor
In the star chart between Libra and Scorpio, there is also a zone of serpentine influence. The ecliptic line runs just above the body of the scorpion, which means the influence of the serpentine on the planets passing through this zone. As a result, this zone between Libra and Scorpio turns out to be a “tri-zone”, as the influences of the three signs: Libra, Scorpio and Serpentor intersect in it. It has been observed that the stars of Serpentor also have a significant influence on the planets in this zone.

    B. Example Capricorn and Aquarius
Another zone of joint influence is observed between the constellations Capricorn and Aquarius. The ecliptic line crosses the boundaries of these signs, and the combined influence from both constellations extends to the planets in the transition zone. This suggests that combinations of influences from both signs can significantly change the interpretation of the astrological forecast for these planets.

    C. Example of Aquarius and Pisces
The boundary between Aquarius and Pisces is also a zone of joint influence. The ecliptic line crosses these two constellations, and the stars of both signs influence the planets passing through this transition. Important stars in the constellation of Pisces are close to the Aquarius border, which also makes the co-influence significant for this zone. In some cases, the stars of the constellation Pegasus are also involved.

    D. Example of fish and Aries
The transition from the constellation of Pisces to Aries is also interesting in terms of joint influence. The sign of Pisces is aquatic and the sign of Aries is fiery, which creates a certain crisis point when planets move from one sign to the other. Nevertheless, the stars of both constellations influence the planets in this zone. The star Alpha Pisces, one of the major stars in the constellation of Pisces, continues to influence planets after their transition into Aries, which again emphasizes the importance of considering the combined influence of the different signs.

    8. Conclusion

The study of the zones of joint influence of the zodiac signs provides important insights into the politics of astrological predictions. Constellations influence planets not only within the strictly defined limits of their zones, but also in the zones of their overlap with neighboring constellations. Incorporating this data into horoscope calculations and interpretations can greatly improve the accuracy of astrological predictions and provide a deeper understanding of the influence of the planets on our lives.”
